Pledge to Truth and Honesty
Deception has become institutionalized in our society. Greed, insecurity, and dissatisfaction cause people to lie and take advantage of others for profit, pleasure, and temporary power. Because this deceptive behavior is often practiced by people in power, people in this world are forced to deceive to get by and feed themselves and their families. This deception ranges from lying in marriage, to resume inflation, to false advertising, to political scandals. Some people think they are being righteous and do not even know they are deceiving others, such as religious/spiritual leaders and parents preaching and passing on what they think is true, acceptable, and right. Deception divides us by creating and perpetuating a multitude of conflicting perspectives and behaviors. Only a universal truth that applies to us all, the kind of truth anyone can check for themselves, can stop this vicious cycle, banish deception from our world, and unite the human race.
